Metal Detecting – Silvers, Sterling & Indian

This is a series of hunts that took place the past week, to ten days ago. Found some nice Silvers, and a new site where an Old High School once stood in 1909 . The land is up for sale right now, so I called the number on the Sign, and was granted permission by the Real Estate (Investor / Owner) to hunt there until the property is sold. Will probably hunt it thoroughly tomorrow, equipped with a Cooler filled with Ice Cold Water, Soda & Gatorade . Man, it’s hot out there …. after diggin that site for only an hour yesterday, I was drenched to the bone . Bring plenty of Cold Water and Good luck on your next hunt everyone . Thanks for watchin ………………………….. BILL . .

  2. Yes … Be careful not to clean any Rare or Important Coins.
That is better left to Professionals, if to be done at all .
I use some Silver Cleaning cream that you see at the end of the video, which is sold in most food supermarkets.
Good luck on your next hunt .

  4. Yeah … the “Indian” on top of an undisturbed mound of mining dirt in the woods, and the “Rosie” in a corner lot, along a residential area .
Interesting how things come to be sometimes .
    Thanks for watching “SilverCoinDigger97″ .
And good luck on your next hunt .

  9. I usually tell them I’m relic hunting, looking for old Spoons and things.
Permission ensures someone doesn’t let a dog out on me when I’m out there …. not a good place to be Jack ….. lol

  10. A lot of times I get “stuck” on some sites with nothin on them but trash and modern day clad …. I’m mean I literally stay on them till I find something good …. that works sometimes, but lately I’m gonna keep movin to different spots where I research and think Silver Coins might be .
Don’t have any great old City Parks near me, so I gotta do the best I can, with what I got .
Hunt a place hard Illinois … then move on .
    You’ll find it …
Good luck next time out .

  12. Thanks “MyAkinees”
I think it was a “Decorative Silver Cover Plate”, placed over Wood Furniture with similar carvings underneith .
Furnature, a fancy “Horse drawn Buggy” perhaps …. But how it fell there on that mound of dirt, all folded up like it was, is something in itself .
In them days in particular, Copper, Silver & Gold was their money, unlike paper & Credit Cards of today.
Someone folded that up, put it in his pocket, & lost it .
I’d like to know where he got it !
    Stay cool ,
    BILL

  13. Thanks Pat,
And maybe in a different “Time and Place”, I would hunt for my food .
But in Todays Modern World of “SuperMarkets” and “Fast Food Places”…. I prefer to let the “Trophy Bucks and Bears”, live out there lives in Proud Splendor .
I just target practice … and love my guns .
Good luck on your next hunt my friend .

  14. What are you doing to clean those old silver pieces? They are looking great when you’re done. I really need to start cleaning mine a little better. Any advice?

  15. Thanks Bill,
I just get a little lucky once in a while, and also tryin to move around more, to different sites these days .
Got to keep looking for some different little spots here and there .
Watch out for that “Heat” Bill … man, it’s hot out there !
Good luck on your next hunt .

  17. Thanks John,
Hope the erosion slows, or a couple of storms serve to push some sand up on the beaches again … storms do that sometimes.
In the mean time, hunting an eroded beach can yield some great old finds.
Congratulations on the Rings … and looking forward to your next hunt .
    Good luck my friend,
    BILL .

  18. Nice Car
Whenever hunting extremes like cranking the Power all the way up to achieve max depth, or utilizing high discrimination on heavy trash Sites, I usually quiet and Stabilize the machine by hunting in Relic Mode.
Depending on the Concentration of Iron, even in different “areas” of the Site you’ll be hunting, you’ll have to adjust, & re adjust all your settings as you go.
Also, Don’t allow “Iron Rich” Soil Granuals, to get trapped in between your Coil and “Coil Scratch Cover” >keep it clean

  19. Congrats on the finds, It’s always nice to dig up something from the past. Like I’ve said before, wish I could find some silver coins, I have plenty of silver rings that I’ve found but no silver coins. Maybe one day! Take Care Bill, Be Safe, Good Luck, & HH

  24. Congrats on the Silver dimes and that piece of Sterling at the end and the other finds as well. I read what you wrote and its funny thats what I did last few days I brought a small cooler with a few drinks in it as well as a wet rag i put in freezer to put around my neck and to wipe sweat away. It worked real good and let me put close to 5 hours in this heat Saturday and 3 Hours today. I still was drenched but it helped. Good luck on your new spot. HH
